About Class

Brazilian Jiu Jitsu

Our BJJ class meets at our gym every Tuesday 12pm & 6.45pm, Wednesday 7am, Thursday 8.30pm, Saturday 10.30am & 3pm, Sunday at 1pm. There are various Children's classes as well.

A typical class consists of a brief fitness workout to warm up, followed by some self defence or Bjj technique training, situational and live sparring.

New students are not allowed to spar in our gym. We prefer that you wait until you are confident with the technique before sparring.

We will be happy to lend you a Kimono for your first lesson. Please wear jogging bottoms or shorts, and a t-shirt. However, if you wish to continue, you will need a White or Blue Kimono (Bjj Gi).

BRAZILIAN JIU JITSU (BJJ) LONDON

Brazilian Jiu Jitsu is a great compliment to Wing Chun because it focuses on managing extreme forms of close quarter attacks like bear hugs, chokes, and head locks. This martial art is especially effective in self defence when you have lost your footing and fallen over or an attacker is trying to pin or punch you on the the ground.

As in Wing Chun the concept of Brazilian Jiu Jitsu is that leverage and technique can subdue a bigger larger opponent. The difference is that Jiu Jitsu focuses primarily on joint locks, strangles, and chokes to render an attacker unconscious. In fact, in training there is also a large focus on ground fighting to achieve this goal.

Our gym offers a variety of Brazilian Jiu Jitsu classes in London that focuses on three specific areas of this martial art. The first, is the self defence syllabus of Jiu Jitsu, the second is the competitive Bjj aspect that focuses on competition training. The last is Submission Wrestling where we practice our techniques without a Kimono (Gi).

Brazilian Jiu Jitsu is well known for its friendly family orientated atmosphere. Our gym is no different, we greet all new arrivals as part of our family. In true Brazilian fashion we make every effort to make you feel welcome. New beginners are welcome any time. Simply contact us to book a taster session or purchase your place online now.
