Look Inside Our Academy.
OUR GYM FACILITIES.
The London Wing Chun Academy was specifically featured in GMTV in 2005 as an outstanding training facility, it has since then appeared on ESPN, and Figthing Fit Magazine.
Our gym in is a 2000 sq ft professional studio that boasts two training areas. The first is a small 'Strength, Fitness, and Conditioning' area with a range of free weights, benches, a power rack, and other equipment. This includes: Olympic Free Weights, Smith Machine, Flat Olympic Bench, and a Lat Pull down (plate loaded) machine. We also provide a range of kettlebells, power bags for dynamic functional fitness and a suspension (TRX) training system for our students. More importantly, there is also a Wooden Dummy, Wallbag, Free Standing Heavy Bag, two BOBs (Human Shaped Heavy Bags), and two floor to ceiling speed balls. This equipment is free to use, at any time, regardless of your level or standard.
The second and probably the most important area is the Kwoon (training room - which is often referred to as a Dojo in Japanese Martial Arts), this is fitted with a range of Heavy Bags, Wing Chun Wall Bags and three Wooden Dummies as well as training mirrors and other equipment. Classes are held in this part of the academy, and students are often encouraged (regardless of their level) to train on the Wooden Dummies as part of the lesson.
The gym also provides a range of Thai Pads, Focus Pads, Boxing Gloves, Skipping Ropes, Resistance Bands, and Medicine Balls for each student to train with. This provision saves our students a considerable amount of money, since there is no need to spend hundreds of pounds buying equipment to train with. In fact, we regularly invest heavily in replacing this equipment and buying new innovations for our students to train with.
During normal opening hours students are free to use any of the equipment provided, whether during a class, or simply 'work out' during dedicated 'Drop in Sessions' within the Kwoon. Our students therefore always have the option to simply pop in, train on the equipment and/or warm up for the next class beforehand. The London Wing Chun Academy also has a shower facility, and storage area for our students belongings, as well as a pro-shop for equipment, uniform, DVDs, and cold refreshments.
With lots of hidden jewels, training equipment. and people to train with, the London Wing Chun Academy provides a high specification of training equipment, martial arts atmosphere as well as international level of Wing Chun instruction in North London. Come and see for yourself.
